Located in Calhoun, Georgia within reach of the Oostanaula River and New Echota (the Capital of the Cherokee Nation), American Carpet Group was created. Historic Calhoun, Georgia is situated in Northwest Georgia where 60% of the world’s carpet is produced.

The American Carpet Group was founded in 1995 by Howard “Skip” Johnson as a fiber supplier to the Accent Rug Industry. After a successful start-up of fiber extrusion and later downstream processing, the company eagerly wanted to expand their product offering, thus leading to a fully vertically integrated carpet manufacturer.
